The Brief
The Farmer's Dog was expanding its kitchen and outdoor facilities, with additional ovens, a marquee and heated outdoor seating. The electrical installation needed to grow with it, giving the pub the capacity and flexibility to support the expansion.
We were appointed to assess the electrical demand across the premises, upgrade the installation and deliver the new infrastructure. As one of the busiest pubs in the country, every stage had to be carefully planned to a tight programme without disrupting opening hours.
Our Solution
We began with a full assessment of the electrical demand across the pub, kitchen and grounds. Using this, we balanced the electrical loads across the site so the whole operation could run efficiently from a single generator.
We then upgraded every distribution board in the building and installed changeover switches, giving the pub the flexibility to switch between mains and generator power. In the kitchen, new dedicated supplies were installed for the additional ovens and increased cooking capacity.
Powering the Outdoor Space
To support the pub's marquee, we routed and installed a substantial new sub-main from the main building across the grounds, giving the marquee a dedicated supply of its own.
Inside and around the marquee, we installed festoon lighting to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the evenings. We also fitted infrared patio heaters so guests can enjoy the outdoor areas in comfort as the weather turns cooler.
The Result
The Farmer's Dog now runs on a single generator with a stable supply, and upgraded distribution boards and new electrical infrastructure support its expanded kitchen and outdoor facilities.
With several projects running alongside each other, our team coordinated the works carefully so every deadline was met. Everything was delivered on time without disrupting the pub's opening hours.
